Pinched Nerve

What causes a pinched nerve?

A pinched nerve occurs when tissues (i.e., bone, tendons, etc.) surrounding a nerve put too much pressure on the nerve. For example, a herniated disc can put pressure on the sciatic nerve (which runs across the lower back, hip and down the leg) leading to a condition known as sciatica.
