Tendonitis

Tendonitis is the inflammation of a tendon (i.e., the cords that connect muscles to bones). The most common location for tendonitis is shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and heels. Tendonitis feels like a dull ache or tenderness and may also be accompanied by slight swelling.

What causes a tendonitis?

Tendonitis is most often caused by repeated movement over time. People whose occupations require repetitive motions may suffer from tendonitis. Certain sports are also associated with tendonitis (e.g., tennis elbow).
