Whiplash
Whiplash is a neck injury caused by a rapid movement of the neck (i.e., back and forth like a whip) and is often associated with rear-end car accidents. Symptoms of whiplash include pain, stiffness and headaches.
What causes a Whiplash?
Whiplash is typically caused by an auto accident, sports accident or other physical trauma. Symptoms typically develop within 24 hours and, in addition to pain and stiffness, may also include a loss of range of motion in the neck, dizziness and fatigue. Many times, however, people who’ve been in an accident don’t realize that they’ve suffered whiplash until weeks or months later when they find the pain continues to persist.
